Honor Pad V8 Pro, the company’s flagship tablet, was introduced late last year. The device features a 12.1-inch 144Hz IMAX-enhanced display and costs CNY 2,600 for the 8/128GB model. Now the company has introduced a non-Pro tablet that is less expensive – CNY 1,900 for the 8/128GB model and CNY 2,000 for the 8/256GB model.
The new Honor Pad V8 is currently available for pre-order in China, and customers can reserve a spot with a CNY100 deposit; Those who pre-order will get a CNY100 discount. Without the discount, the starting price is $275/€250/$22,500.
The non-Pro version is smaller, with an 11-inch IPS LCD screen and the same 2,560 x 1,600px resolution. The refresh rate has been reduced to 120Hz. Along with the smaller screen is a smaller battery with a capacity of 7,250mAh and a charging rate of 22.5W (compared to 10,050 and 35W on the Pro).
What’s more, it is the first tablet to feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 8020 chipset. It is a 6nm processor with four Cortex-A78 cores running at 2.6GHz and four A55 cores running at 2.0GHz, along with a Mali-G77 MC9 GPU. As mentioned earlier, the tablet packs 8GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB of storage, and a microSD card slot.
This model comes with MagicUI 6.1 based on Android 12.1. Wi-Fi 6(X) and Bluetooth 5.1 are two other notable features. The system features quad speakers with DTS:X Ultra compatibility (wired audio is handled by the USB-C port).
The tablet weighs 485 grams and is 7.3mm thick. Like the Pro model, the back is made of vegan leather (currently available in gray and brown).
Alternatively, the Honor Pad V8 can be paired with the Magic Pencil 3 stylus or the Magic Keyboard (or both).
It’s unclear whether Honor will sell the Pad V8 outside China (the Pro model doesn’t).
