The glory of Kalashtami has been told in ‘Aditya Purana’. Known as a form of Lord Shiva, Lord Kaal Bhairav ​​is the primary deity worshiped during Kalashtami.

In Hindi, the word “Kaal” means “time” and “Bhairav” means “manifestation of Shiva”. Therefore, Kaal Bhairav ​​is also known as the “Lord of Time” and is worshiped fervently by the worshipers of Lord Shiva.
