Speaking to Mid-Day, the actor said, “People are not able to accept that there was a group of viewers who were enjoying Kabir Singh. India Today quoted him as saying, “When Kabir Singh released, many people refused to believe that the film was going to be liked by the audience. If people are liking the film, who are you to say, ‘How dare you make a film like this?’

Shahid explained himself by saying, ‘Kya pyar mein hum sabne ghalal nahi ki hai?’ He added that people are not perfect and everyone deserves a second chance “no matter how much of a crapshoot they are.”
