The University of Oxford will remove Sackler’s name from its buildings, venues and staff positions following an investigation by the Financial Times for calling for sweeping reforms to academics and students led by the Sackler family.

The university said the result had the “full support” of the Sackler family. It states that while Sackler’s name will be removed from iconic buildings such as the Ashmolean Museum and the Bodleian Library, it will be placed on the Clarendon Arch and Ashmolean’s Donor Board “for the purposes of historical recording of donations to the University”.
